Ginger Saketini with Barbara Hannah Grufferman

1 T minced peeled fresh ginger
1 cup sake
3/4 cup ginger ale, chilled
4 strips lemon twists
4 strips crystallized ginger

1. Add ginger to the bottle of sake and refrigerate overnight.
2. Fill a martini shaker with ice. Add 1 cup sake and shake until well-chilled.
3. Strain sake into 4 martini glasses; stir in 3 T ginger ale per glass.
4. Garnish each glass with a lemon twist and a strip of ginger on each rim.

Makes 4 servings, 147 calories per glass.
