Mint Julep with Abby Dodge

7 sprigs of mint
1/2 oz. simple syrup (we used maple syrup)
3 oz. bourbon

Crush 6 mint sprigs into the bottom of a chilled glass. Pour in the syrup and bourbon. Fill with crushed ice. Garnish with the remaining sprig of mint and serve with a straw. Sometimes a splash of club soda is added. 
Makes one drink.
