2 Classes at The Writing Institute, Sarah Lawrence College, Fall 2015

Memorable stories are usually simple tales about complex characters. How do writers create complex characters? Learn how in my upcoming 5 week class starting 10/8 at The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. Learn what makes a story successful in today’s market, when a story can still be compelling even if the protagonist isn’t (a good example is Orange Is the New Black, Piper Kerman’s memoir), and join a supportive writing community that welcomes writers of all levels.

This class includes writing to prompts (the art of writing) as well as instruction on the craft of writing (hooking the reader, writing vivid prose, dialogue, narrative pacing, and showing versus telling).

Submit 5 pages per week for instructor feedback, meet one-on-one for a one hour personal consultation, and get access to whatever you need at your stage of writing development.
